Benefits of being a member:

Being able to enjoy competitive and friendly hockey with friends
Training and coaching to help you improve
Socials – the Social Committee always put a good social diary together, get involved
Discount card for the clubhouse bar
Use of the clubhouse bar all year round (makes for a glorious beer garden in the summer)
A right to be heard by the hockey committee and ability to vote at hockey club AGM, have your say in how your club is run
And hopefully that sense of belonging to an extended family

Unfortunately there are certain costs associated with running a hockey club, which is why we have to ask you to pay a hockey subscription.

The subscriptions pay for costs of nearly £20,000 per year relating to:

Pitch hire costs (c. £15,000 per year)
Insurance
Qualified coaches
League affiliation fees
Entering the cup
Goal keepers’ kit (they begin to smell after a while if not replaced!)
Water bottles, balls, cones, bibs and other misc training/match day gear
Plus any advertising and other special events also add to the club costs
Maintenance of clubhouse
Clubhouse Electricity, Water and Rates
Clubhouse staff wages

Match fees are also vitally important for ensuring the club can run (under 18 members are not required to pay match fees). The money collected in match fees goes towards all the costs above as subscriptions alone would not cover all our out-goings.

It is essential that all members contribute, even if you’re not going to play a full season please talk to us rather than avoiding the issue. We’d prefer that you play so we’ll try our best to sort out an agreeable situation.

Membership categories are below:

Full hockey member – £200

Occasional player (3-8 games) or Under 24/Student – £115

Under 18/Juniors – £50 termly (includes training and all match fees)

Social membership - £65 (not able to play but do get a membership card for the bar discount).
