We won 1- 0 Report by Leggs

Match report version 1
Leggs scored, thank you and good night ?

Match report version 2
The COWS L2 were not deterred by their unfortunate loss last week and arrived at the Crown and Pepper ready to take on Wayfarers at the new and shiny pitch they call home. Bikinis adorned for our beach volley ball jaunt.
All arrived on time (mostly) and after a rousing team talk from our Captain we took to the pitch to slay the opposition.
A strong start from all, lots of passing the ball and playing hockey took place, some stuff happened in the middle that meant the ball spent most of its time up front. A win was on the cards here and everyone threw themselves into it, literally, many fell and got back up again, brushed the sand from their knees and charged again.
At half time 0-0 we remained buoyant knowing the win was within our grasp. That's if the ball stays on the pitch and not in a certain players bucket, Whatever the next half brought these ladies were playing team hockey.
Mrs B arrived to the ring of, but don't we only have 10 players anyway, relief from all in the Sub me sub me chant.
We defended short corners with an impenetrable defence, Whatever and Netty achieved text book solid line clearance, Lisa leaping around like a gazelle being chased by a bison saved their few shoots on goal with ease, Leggs and How-hard flipping for who was hanging the least as to who ran 1, special support from the opposition umpire who offered at one point to do 1.
The push by us forced several short corners, we tried the 1 , we tried the 3, and then, time stood still, the sound of the crowd hushed, our captain said, "let's try number 2"
Everyone stepped up to their positions, Leggs placed the ball on the line, dry mouth, sweaty hands, the pressure immeasurable. A good strong push to the top of the D, perfectly pushed back by Robbo to that sweaty injector, sweep, PAUSE, OMGG, it only bloody went in. A very loud girly scream followed, Leggs and Captain hugging it out and the opposition looked on in disgust at the overzealous celebrations.
Back to the serious mission of keeping that clean sheet.
We played wide, passed back, around , SQWWWAAAARRRE, up the wing, into the D.
Naomi (the committed traveller from Bournemouth) distributed left and right, Jo returned to the pitch with cheers from the girls and threw herself at ever ball that came her way. Sharon and Poppy ran the line, kept the space and chased the balls down, Bony ran the middle picking the stray balls up and distributing through Robbo, Leggs, and Mrs B. And the defence swore that goal would not be in vain for their beloved defender Leggs.
The final whistle , the first win of the season, the first goal (ever) by Leggs.
L2, sweet like chocolate, what a match.
Special thanks to Martin for umpiring and Mrs Martin for bolting to our rescue.
Oh, and did I mention ...........
I SCORED
