COWHC Ladies 2s vs Camberley & Farnborough Ladies 2s - 23rd Sept 2017

After a lively birthday night out the COW ladies 2nd team took to the hockey pitch for their first match of the season.
The warm up included well timed runs to avoid being smashed by the men’s 1st team and Leggs protested against the non free range chicken farming by closing the gate before feeding the chickens
During the first half the COW ladies demonstrated some serious strength pushing back against Camberley’s force.
Lisa’s constant solid performance in goal kept Camberley from achieving victory before half time.
A combined defensive effort from Becca, Howhard, Vicky and Netty ensured Camberley stayed away.
A predominantly defensive game resulted in what seemed like 100 000 short corners before half time making the other half of the team at the half way line complete the bleep test.
The second half started off with a bang with COWs making a super effort to score. Once through Tani was able to make a run at the D and aim for goal with Poppy and Sharon assisting. A scramble in the D for a goal , the COW’s could not get the ball past the keeper.
The Camberley force came out and scored their first goal. The strong mid fielders Broni, Nicky, Andrea and Legs held their own throughout. Unfortunately Camberley made another attempt for victory and scored.
This newly made team fought well and came into their own in the second half with new found energy. The whistle blew resulting in a 2-0 loss.
All heads were still high as everyone played amazing and couldn’t wait for the delicious pizza awaiting them at the club house.
