COWHC Ladies' 2s vs Epsom Ladies' 5s - 12th November 2016

Epsom had matched our scores game for game so far this season, so we knew it was going to be a close one.
We all turned up to a sodden CHS pitch at stupid o'clock alive and well given the new Friday drinking strategy of getting the drinks in early and home by 8pm.
Lisa said she needed to work on closing the gate, but said no more.
After a positive start threatening the Epsom defence, Epsom snuck in an early goal off a PC. It was time for the defence to close the gate.
We kept our heads up and soon equalised with a cracking PC strike from Hannah. Game on.
The rest of the half was fairly even and Epsom managed to catch us snoozing with more players in the D than us, 2 - 1. After a lovely pass to Poppy up front, she displayed some awesome ball control and a quick shot into the goal. Definitely a notch up from her usual dirty shoves) although we love them too). 2- 2 and half time whistle.
After some wise words from Roachie at half time, we worked harder to work the sideline and back passing.
Nicky seemed to think Epsom needed a bit of a hand and lined up on the 2nd half on their side of the pitch.
Concentration and focus was then the order of the day and after a lovely run up the right, Hannah did a strong cross to Jo who was waiting at the top just inside the D. 101 hockey but beautiful to watch.
Epsom then came back and after some relentless defence from the COWS they managed to equalise 3 - 3.
The signal for 2 minutes to go followed shortly so the plan was to keep the steady ship, which we did, but also had some good attacking play. That's how it ended, so not quite the result we wanted, but still that's 4 weeks without a loss and also playing a team who were higher up in the league.
