After last week's euphoric 0-0 draw, we attempted to replicate our game plan this week with the same feisty marking and who-dares-wins attitude. This we did to a large extent; the only trouble was that Woking scored more goals than us in the process.
So, some things happened on the pitch, we ran around a lot, we fell over a lot, we tackled a lot, Nicky did her plate-of-spaghetti style running, Rachel wasn't threatened by any of the oppo, Sharon saved a lot, Dicko wore all the men's 1s clothes, Santy had another shot on goal and (I know I said I'd keep it low key in the match report) .. I SCORED A GOAL! That takes our league tally to 5 goals in 9 matches.
So, we enter the league Christmas break with our heads held high, in 9th place in Surrey Div 2. If only there were more than 10 teams in the league. Here's to the Christmas Party, to Rachel's 10 commandments and to Chloe's skills at counting backwards.
Thanks to Emma for racing to our rescue, to Martin and AJ for cheering us on, and to Hoops for pointing out all those pesky Woking players who were unmarked ... I'm sure there were more than 11 of them on the pitch.
The team was: Sharon, LBell, Lena, Santy, Chloe, Emma, Alex, Becky, Nicky, Rachel, Kat and Dicko.
PoM votes were 1 each for Alex and Becky, 1.5 for the 'solid' LBell, 3 for Rachel and 6.5 for Nicky (that's just over 1 vote for every km she ran ...)
