COWHC Ladies 1s vs London Eds - COWHC Ladies 1s vs London Eds

Sometimes a scoreline conjures up images of a torrid morning in pouring rain, being battered by gale force winds, whilst a well drilled opposition gives us a demonstration of how to keep possession and how to slot home a bagful of goals. Ummmmmmm. Oh dear. That's about it really.

The scoreline was a little generous in their favour, but London Eds are top of the league and they are a good team. They were quick to take the ball away from us in possession and also to pounce on any misdirected passes from us. It wasn't all gloom and doom: our short passes are a real strength, Dicko stepped into right back and found some nice space, Lena proved she is hard as nails as she was bundled off the ball and trodden on, and Amelia battled well in her first league game for the mighty COWS. Onwards and upwards, as ever.

Thanks to the two trainee Surrey umpires for using us as a training game and we wish them luck for their assessments. Thank you also to Hoops - don't lose heart - every trough will be mirrored by a peak as the season runs its course! Thank you also to my new trackie bottoms for being so lovely (LBell - have I told you how much I like them?)
