COWHC Ladies 1s vs Reigate Ladies - 16th September 2017

Sometimes life seems unfair.

Sometimes you are handed two right-legged shin pads and sometimes your hockey ball ends up flying over the fence during pre-match shooting practice.

Sometimes a torrential downpour will begin just as you set foot on the pitch and sometimes your white kit will go completely see-through.

Sometimes your own player will tackle you to deny an obvious goal scoring opportunity, and sometimes you will get blamed for denying said obvious goal scoring opportunity when your teammate *cough* should have passed *cough*.

Sometimes you fail to stop the ball upright on the reverse and sometimes you will concede 3 goals in fairly quick succession.

Sometimes you will leave your hockey stick at the pitch and sometimes 90% of your team will get lost looking for teas.

Sometimes you will try REALLY hard not to get voted MoM for the second week in a row, but get it anyway based on the quality of your match reports and not the stupidity of your actions.

However....

For every mis-matched shin pad and forgotten stick, there are teammates who have your back.

For every wayward shot, teammate hindering tackle and unintentional trip to Reigate Priory Cricket Club, there is the chance for a joke over teas.

For every goal conceded there is the opportunity to fight back and show that no one does second half hockey better than us.

For every failed reverse stick stop there is a reverse stick goal, and for every mouthy oppo player there is an opportunity to 'accidentally' lift the ball into their leg or silence them with a perfectly executed p-flick.

...and for every person who voted me MoM, there is revenge coming your way.
