3-0 WIN!!! Scorers – Indy 2 & Jay 1. Assists from Jay / Raj / Bash.
Man of the Match – Stephen McKeown / Dick of the Day – Indy (Should have been Jay for missing millions of chances)
Away at Leatherhead. We had several drops outs midweek which left the final squad to skin and bones with a bare 12. Thanks Margy. Thanks Pad. Assholes…
Onwards we marched. Reeds School was the location for Leatherheads ass whooping! The game got started and initially it was fairly even. Terry in goal pulled off some amazing saves. Steve Mckenown absolutely destroyed their CF. He had no chance against out Stevo! Ed made some positive runs from Sweeper, unfortunately our strikers couldn’t get onto his final passes.
1-0. Bash passes to Indy on the left. Indy flicks the ball over to Jay. Jay is one on one with the keeper. He draws the keeper out of the way and unselfishly passes to Indy. A great team goal! We were all over them at this point. Chris Morling (Hagrid) was making some awesome runs up top. Jay had several chances in the first 20 mins, and in his own words: “I have the touch of a rapist.” That sort of language at an U16 all boys school is boarderline creepy… UNTIL 2-0!!! Raj smashes the ball into the D. Jay finally manages to control the ball and reverse sticks it to the back of the goal!
Half time and we were feeling very confident! Will Chan & Tom Dawes put in solid performances making exquisite tackles in the middle of the pitch! Leatherhead had a few chances on the break but our defence with Raj, Stevo, Ed, Cocksy and Terry were able to shut down any advance with their great defending and goalkeeping!
3-0! Ed gets the ball on the right. Passes to Bash. Bash takes on a man. Beats the man and puts Indy through one on one with the keeper. Indy scores!
Solid performance lads. 3-0 away win! Great clean sheet!! Good finishing from our attackers!
Good luck next week lads! Raj, Pad, Jenks & I will be in sunny Barbados enjoying a Mojito on the beach whilst you play! ☺
