We won 3 - 1

This week's 'away match' required very little travel for the Men's 2s, as our unbeaten side took on local rivals Addiscombe 2s.
With Cocksy being out this week, Jay took the armband and captained the team. Another very tough week for selection meant that a couple of faces had changed in this very competitive squad.
The first goal came from Pardeep Chatwall, cleaning up after Jay's first attempt to put in a crossed ball failed.
The first 35 minutes saw COWs dominating in possession, however they failed to create many chances within the opposition's D and they would sit just 1.0 up at the break.
The second half saw an increase in offensive play from the COWs and this paid off. The Addiscombe keeper did well to keep a number of shots out. Following a save from a Gashford drag flick and a mis-hit rebound from Steelers, it was Jay's turn to clean up and claim a rebound goal.
Tempers began to run high, as (one of) Addiscombe's number 54's used some unconventional methods of play that some would consider dangerous.
The umpire clearly had lots of confidence in Steve's skill set, particularly as he managed to 'deliberately' put the ball off the back line whilst facing the other direction!
But the COW's managed to keep their composure and Kai grabbed the third goal to make the lead more comfortable coming towards the final whistle. Giving that 3 out of 4 of or goals conceded so far this season have been in the final 5 minutes of play, we were not calling it a day just yet.
Unfortunately, sitting behind the ball in the dying minutes of the game was not enough for a clean sheet. A late penalty corner conceded gave Addiscombe a chance to grab a consolation goal and with an unsuccessful blocking touch from Steve, they made it 3.1.
Relief came with the final whistle and even though it wasn't the goal-fest that it could have been on a different day, we were happy to have another 3 points on the board.
MoM was awarded to Raj for not putting a foot wrong all match (despite switching over from right to left back for the day.
DoD goes to Bash for throwing a wobbly and chucking his stick after receiving the old 'wham bam thank you mam' from the tackling player.
Special mention to Steelers for turning 21 again and showing his youth through playing a full 70 minutes in the middle of the park.
