We lost 4 - 3 Report by Chris

Remembrance Day. Lest we Forget!

I'm not going to say the 4s match was a war because that would be a frivolous description on this of all days, however it was a niggly game that sadly we came second in.

The game started quite evenly on all levels, before COWs scored a superb breakaway goal - two quick passes from the back saw Bob chasing down the ball and crossing for Karl to finish.

Slowly things began to get more physical, and OKs began to get more in the game. They equalised when one of their players picked up a cross in the D, half turned and shot through a crowd of legs into the goal. The second player made it 2 - 1 not long after with another shot that squeezed through Phil's pads and despite a full length dive from Chris trickled over the line.

The rest of the half ebbed and flowed before, moments prior to the half time whistle being blown, the mighty 4s won a short corner. The injection was good, the strike from Scott great, finding its way into the back of the net.

Half-time and all square.

The game was there for the taking, and when we went 3 - 2 up we thought it could be ours. Rochie drilled a high ball into the D where Jamie, with lightning fast reactions, reverse-stick volleyed it into the back of the net.

OKs kept coming at us though, and some good saves from Phil kept them at bay until we conceded a short. The first shot was scuffed, the ball then played to another player who shot high into the goal. 3 - 3

And then they got another. I can't recall the details of this one, but suffice to say COWs threw everything at the opposition after this in an effort to get back on level terms.

Sadly, the equaliser evaded us and for the second week in a row we were on the wrong side of a 7 goal thriller.

As last week though, we can take heart from the performance and look to build on it next week. The wins will come!

Thanks to Ollie for umpiring and those who hung around on a cold, grey Saturday to support.
