We won 3 - 1 Report by Max

"What we do in life echoes in eternity" (Gladiator, 2000) is certainly a statement of truth for the men's 4's in their current season. Returning with a mighty winning streak of 7 games under our belts, we rolled up pitch side with the artillery, armor and foot soldiers. The opposition could be seen trembling in their astros as a hardened M4's team were determined to extend our winning streak taking no prisoners. Even the female supporters from the opposing team could be seen with their star struck eyes looking over at us - in particular lady's man Jude and 007 Bob. Mike Ford (3/10) was missing, as he seems to think abandoning his hockey team to go to Copenhagen for a romantic weekend away on his birthday is acceptable. It isn't Mike, and the only decent thing you have done for the Men's 4 hockey team recently is bringing your lovely mother (7.5/10) along to support us.

From the whistle, the back line of chalkey, honey G, ham jam and max knew that no mistakes were acceptable this week. The midfield with JP, Jude, Karl and Ross were continually taking the ball from the opposition and denying them all chances. The start was lackluster and we were not looking like the team we knew we were. We all face timed each other and decided that we actually wanted to win. With this, in a 4 piece move, chalky passed up the ball from our D all the way to Adam who was awaiting to add to his goal tally. The ball was cleanly placed at the back of the net by the skipper. It was 1-0 and half time. The talk involved Adam telling us that we were playing hockey like a Saturday morning amateur team, and that we needed to sort our lives out or our winning streak would be over. With this the message was taken on board. The attack was on and nothing could stop us from killing their families. And scoring.

This short corner seemed to be one of the few decisions that went our way. The ball was injected in by Max with extreme precision to Adam waiting at the top of the D. The ball was received like iron to a magnet, the veteran captain then proceeded to strike the ball with devastating effect. Some people say he appeared as a prowling tiger with claws drawn as he made the strike, which could not be stopped by the keeper and went in the left extremity of the goal bringing the score to 2-0. After Nelly and Ben turned up late and got benched, Ciaran realized that he might not get his standard dick of the day award so he needed to act fast. He did this by allowing the other team to score a goal, increasing his goal ratio to 4 in 8 games. With this single decisive move Ciaran had secured himself as DOD so did not need to let in any more goals. 2-1.

With the game drawing to a close the CROWS had decided that the opposition needed to be humiliated even further and secure our 8th victory in a row. The ball was pushed from our back line all the way to the oppositions D. Multiple shots were fired and fended off by their keeper. Out of nowhere, while the ball was in mid air, Max came charging in out of nowhere and smashed the ball into the top left corner of the goal. The power of Ewan Quince, the accuracy of Rob FB, and the skill of Benji (Men's 1st team) would not have come close to the brilliance of this strike, especially after scoring a p-flick last week. In sheer surprise the Captain Adam nearly had an accident in his pants. Mike could be heard with Scotty's wife in Copenhagen cheering from his bedside, and a defeated Old Reigatians had received the chilling message that hit home hard.....
