COWHC Mens 4s vs Addiscombe Mens 4s - 31 October 2015

Team: Chris, Johnny G, Rob, Max, Duncan, Ken, Stuart, Karl, Mike, Adam, Scott, Bob, Qas.

Umpire: Sammy, 'The machine', 'Mr Motivator', Thompson.

Firstly, those of you expecting a metaphor laden piece of literary magic are out of luck :-) Due to exuberant celebrations and Halloween antics, many of the details of the game have evaded my memory. However, the highlights mostly remain so here goes...

As usual pre game was dominated by a frantic search for players however excellent availability meant we had 13 including Chris and Johnny G gracefully dropping down to the 4s. Though rumours have since surfaced suggesting the dynamic duo have put in joint transfer request to make the loan deal permanent. Watch this space!

With 13 players things looked bright but this is the 4s remember! No GK Kit except for a hastily borrowed face mask but Chris stepped up to play kicking back and he then preceeded to boss the game.

Things now get hazy...

A Stuart Little hattrick, a brace from super Scott, a hattrick assists from el Capitano and a silky smooth, assist making run by marvellous Mike saw Croydon up 5 nil with 15 to go to the final whistle. Sadly, I have no more to offer on those goals except for saying the whole team worked hard to ensure the game was not defined by a lack of a GK. Instead, the team stood tall, ride their luck yes but overall dominated the game. We paid the price for our earlier exertions by conceding 2 late goals but the result was never in doubt.

Rob and Max mopped up like 2 tornados on cocaine.
Johnny G's composure would have made Mozart jealous.
Ken literally bled for the team.
Duncan was relentless.
Karl earnt his pocket money.
Scott dazzled and delighted.
Brave Bob battled.
Adam and Mike linked together like lego.
Max taught a '1s player' how to play Hockey.
Qas paid his subs without question.

Awesome result. Who needs a GK eh?
