Undefeated in 3 seasons they said... The team that are too good for the league they said. The team that beats every team they come against they said! Saturday 27th January 2018 - Cranleigh Men's 1s were slayed by a team of Mr. Men misfits.

Mr. Tickle and his team faced a momentous task this week, the mindset going into the game was damage limitation. Mr. Tickle and Mr. Bounce insisted that even a point taken from the game would be a good result. Five minutes into the game and Cranleigh scored, an outstanding finish into the top right corner - Mr. Brave had no chance. 1 - 0 Cranleigh.

Mr. Small decided to bring his fan club (his parents) along to the game; they made the epic trip from Middle Earth (Bedford) to make the match. In front of his fan club, Mr. Small stepped up and scored. He did it for the crowd! He did it for his team. He did it for his parents. He did it for love. A tremendous assist from Mr. Tall. 1 - 1 and the Mr. Men team were back in the game.

Almost immediately on the break, Mr. Muddle won the ball and put Mr. Mischief one on one with the Cranleigh keeper. Mr. Mischief cooly took it round the keeper and scored. The classic two on one switcheroo and Mr. Men were now winning 2 - 1!!!!

Cranleigh started charging forward, chance after chance they created. However Mr. Brave's defence were bossing it. Mr. Brave led by example with some worldie saves! Mr. Cheerful had their left forward in his pocket. Mr. Tickle kept making vital challenges, a ferocious leader he is. Mr. Bounce was SCREAMING instructions at the defence to man mark, a wise old head on a bouncy body. Mr. Happy was happy just plodding along, beating Cranleigh's right forward to most loose balls, making crucial tackles.

On the break, Mr. Tall won a short corner. Only one man for the job, Mr. Messy. Part time keeper/ part time drag flick sensation! Drag flicket it into the net! 3 - 1 to the Mr. Men team. Cranleigh were crumbling. Mr. Grumble on the left was causing all sorts of havoc, his shing ginger hair was blinding the opposition right back. He passed it to Mr. Mischief who scored on his reverse stick. Umpires then signalled one minute left in the half; Mr. Grumpy (with a rare smile on his face) fired the ball into the Cranleigh D. Mr. Mischief saw the shot and deflected it into the bottom right. Half time and Mr. Men were 5 - 1 up!

Second half and Cranleigh were on the charge. Chance after chance they created, but the Mr. Men defence and midfield ground it out. On the break, Mr. Chatterbox picked up the ball and fired it forward to Mr. Mischief who shot from the top of the D and scored. Completely against the run of play. 6 - 1 to Mr. Men.

Despite Mr. Brave's awesome saves, Cranleigh followed up with three quick goals. 6 - 4 and the game was getting tense. Only a few minutes left and Mr. Grumble made a run, he took a shot at goal and Mr. Mischief deflected it into the corner! 7 - 4.

Two minutes left; the game seemed won! A short corner to the Mr. Men team. Mr. Grumpy delivered the perfect injection pass to Mr. Bouncy at the top of the D who nailed it into the bottom right. 8 - 4. But what persued after was worthy of an Oscar performance. Mr. Bouncy, elated he'd scored, BOUNCED around, arms aloft, all the way to the halfway line in jubilation. As if he'd just crashed home the winning goal!

A great performance boys. 8 - 4 against a no more undefeated team!!
