COWHC Men's 3s vs Teddington Men's 6s - 04th Nov 2017

10:30am and the Men’s 3s were warming up on a cold morning at Croydon High. A squad of 15 strong lads, ready to rip apart Teddington.

DP and Hutch rallying the lads before the game, psyching us up for the battle we were about to get into! Hutchy stepped down for this game to manage from the sidelines; the teams OAP was nursing a hamstring injury he suffered the week before. Someone needs to remind Hutchy, at 53 he is no longer the spring chicken he once use to be!

A return for MJ from Sandhurst was a very welcome addition to the side. The game got under way with our classic 4-4-2 formation. Being half term Teddington picked up a few youthful additions to their side who ran the midfield very well.

It was tricky for the Men’s 3s as it was a new team put together with a lot of players playing in new positions. A few mistakes at the back and questionable umpiring decisions meant we were 2-1 down at half time. Pad stepping up with a monstrous short corner shot which kept us in the game.

2nd half kicked off with with Teddington scoring almost immediately. From then on we were chasing the game.

The game finished at 5-2 with Mulley picking up a neat finish for our second goal.

It wasn’t our finest performance but certainly a learning curve for the team not to judge our oppositions by their cover. Teddington wanted more than us on the day. Had we turned up we almost certainly have picked up the 3 points.

Training on Wednesday and back next week with the win!
