We drew 2 - 2 Report by Rochie

Match Report for today, ignore all spelling and grammatical errors... I went to a crap school and am therefore stupid...

As a majority of 1s descended on Croydon High prepared to faced the inclement weather conditions expected of the Weather Bomb, which we had all been kindly informed of by resident weather man Fury, and a Havant 2s side who had not won since the opening day of the season... Ali however had other ideas and decided his day wouldn't be complete without a short trip to the wrong pitch and duly ended up at Trinity... It probably wouldn't of been that noticeable except for the following reasons; A) he was already late when he arrived at Trinity and B) he made it all the way to the Astro before realising we wasn't playing there, now this is usually enough to earn the Dick of the Day trophy, but not today....

Now to the game itself and following on from a very good display of second half hockey the week before (see match report... Oh wait a minute) which saw the 1s overcome an organised Reigate Priory side and their lovely coach, whom as a result of their constant flirting on the sideline, Foley has rumoured to have added on Snapchat (we know how this goes), it was once again left to the team to show grit and determination in the second half after a frustrating first 35 minutes in which saw us go in 2-0 down at the break. Now we could go in to details of how Rochie wiped out their forward to give away a penalty flick or where he was beaten in 1 on 1 for the first goal, but where is the fun in that... We just hope to find the gift receipt soon so we can return him back to Addiscombe....

Following some influential words at half time from new coach Martin, we were quickly in to our stride and transferring the ball with patience, whilst looking to create gaps in the Havant half court press. Great movement up top from the rotating forwards, we quickly began to create a number of chances and stunned Havant with 2 quick goals from short corners as Dom's drag scoops somehow found their way in to the goal. However, this was only after Dom had stopped taking target practice at Havant's number 1 runner who finally decided for the benefit of his health that he wasn't going to get in the way of a third short corner having been pinned by the previous 2 short corner attempts.

As the game entered the final 15, we continued to apply the pressure and were unlucky not to snatch a third goal, whilst the defence snuffed out any Havant counter attack despite some Pantomime goalkeeping from Rochie, where he somehow lost the ball around his pads and calmly back heeled the ball off the pitch following a friendly shout of "It's behind you" from the sideline... Some say the panic in his eyes at that moment resembled #PB18's against Reigate when he was left with an open goal...

Full time... A 2-2 draw it was to be and the unbeaten run continues. A big thanks to all the spectators who braved Storm Brian to support us.

Finally and most importantly a big congratulations to Tim and Shaun on their engagement(s)
