On a baking hot April Saturday, which some of us would class too hot for hockey, the Men's 1s put in an outstanding performance to beat a changed Surbiton team. With a large vociferous crowd our men started the game extremely well going a goal up with just 10 minutes gone. When the second went in and the crowd's confidence grew it looked like it may be our day.

However Surbiton with a depth of talent to choose from were never going to roll over easy. We seemed to sit back a bit and it was all that Surbiton required, with wave after wave of attacks they were sure to score, and sure enough they pulled back the 2 goals.

Nervous moments for the crowd as the next few minutes played out with Surbiton still attacking strong, but we had a final push left in us and with a few minutes to spare Dom made it 3-2. Surbiton now needed 2 goals for the win and just a few minutes left, we defended resolutely to shut the game out and walk away with the title.

Winning the title last year was an awesome effort, to win back to back titles at this level is a truly unbelievable effort.

And what style we did it in, we scored 111 goals, that's and incredible 5 per game average and finished with a goal difference of +52!

Well done to all involved but in particular to Feebs and Jon for cultivating and motivating this team to another fantastic year.

The Men's 1s join the Men's 3s and 4s as Champions this year capping a truly unprecedented couple of years that has seen 5 league titles and 6 promotions!
