The dust has settled since awards night and it's about time we revealed who our MVPs are...

So here they are, your end of season award winners in the order they were awarded on the night...

Top scorer Ladies 2s
New to the club this season she has already made a huge impact both on the pitch and to the social side of the club. L2 top scorer - Jade Hope

Most improved Ladies 2s
This award goes to a player who attends training each week, which goes to show that it really does make a difference. She has come along in leaps and bounds and recently scored her first league goal for the club. L2 most improved - Claire Howard.

Player of the season Ladies 2s
This player has moved up the pitch from defense into midfield this season which she has taken to like a duck to water. She really is a pivotal member of the team and we'd be completely lost without her. L2 player of the season - Lydia Billington

Top Goal Scorer Ladies 1s
This has been a close contest all year with Hannah, Alex & Rachel always being within 1 goal from each other. Going into the final 2 games all was to play for unfortunately for Rachel she had 2 goals disallowed in the last 2 games. So pipping her to the post by 1 goal L1 top goal scorer - Hannah Hamilton.

Most Improved Ladies 1s
For this award 10 different players were nominated, and it shows how much everyone worked as a team. Two honourable mentions to those who came close to winning go to Emer & Santy, both have been amazing this season. The winner has been consistent in defence and has even played in the middle of midfield for our final 2 games. She's full of spirit and loves a G&T, L1 most improved - Katy Dickinson

Player of Season Ladies 1s
This award was very close with 5 people nominated and 2 points separating 1st and 3rd. The winner of this award well & truly deserves it, they have been a rock this season, she is always on top form and even wins POM over hatrick scorers. L1 player of the season - Lena Lawal

Top Goal Scorer Men's 4s
Champions need goal scorers, and the 4s were lucky to have 3 big hitters this season, Bob, Adam & Joe. With these boys leading the way, the 4s averaged over 3 goals a game. Joe came very close finishing top on 11 but this year’s M4 top goal scorer with 12 - Adam Williams

Most improved Men's 4s
The M4s most improved player has come on so much this season and it honestly is hard to believe that he has only just started playing hockey. This player brings so much energy and the willingness to learn to every game that it's not surprising how much he has improved. If he continues to improve I'm sure he will one day rival the likes of Ken George! M4s most improved - Killian Gallagher

Player of the year Men's 4s
This year was without a doubt the hardest when it came down to choosing player of the year! However when it came down to it there was one player that rose above the rest. One player that when all else failed you knew he was there to save the day, this man is an absolute rock. M4 Player of the year is - Jean-Paul Van Ryswyck.

Top Goal Scorer Men's 3s
17 different players made the scorers sheet this year. However, there has been one person who has stood ahead of his fellow team mates. Some might say its due to his poaching of goal bound shots, the reality is that player has really improved over the year and was a close contender for Most Improved thanks to his tireless work rate. With 18 goals the Men’s 3s top goal scorer - James Mulley

Most improved Men's 3s
Eight players were nominated for this award, first and third separated by one point until the final vote. Congratulations to both Steve Brooks and James Mulley for excellent first seasons with the club. With vast improvement in fitness, ability, and decision making meant the winner made a weekly appearances in the MoM votes, he played his heart out in every match and set the bar of expectations high. His continual improvement through the season won praise not only across the team but also others within the club. M3 Most Improved - Davin Mahi

Player of the season Men's 3s
As you'd expect after such a successful season this was a very close run contest that came down to the final vote. In total there were 10 players nominated for player of the season, showing how much of a team performance we have had. Honourable mentions should go to Wojjy and Will Cooledge who both had extremely solid seasons and came very close to winning. But the eventual winner has been a stalwart of the team, his presence both on and off the pitch has been highlighted by many. His commanding performances have meant he has scored and assisted goals nearly every game while offering a solid defensive performance that helped drive our Championship winning season. M3 Player of the Season - Adrian Hutchings

Top Goal Scorer Men's 2s
Top goal scorer for the Men’s 2s had several in the running going into the big double-header weekend at the end of the season. In the end, the competition was simply too tight to separate and the award this year was split in a dead-heat. Both have scored key goals at crucial moments, stepping up to set-pieces and p-flicks, the award is shared between the evergreen post specialist and the ball slinging antics of the young pretender. M2 joint top goal scorers - Kai Patel and Peter Bashford.

Most Improved Men's 2s
The voting for this award was not close... the winner’s level of bravery in defence is possibly matched only by the level of durability in their stick. Over time this has been coupled with an assured sense of command on the pitch and a steadily growing sense of self-belief which should continue to fuel their influence in matches and within the side for years to come. They are by far their own harshest critic and it is therefore fitting that they should end this season with an award given by their peers. M2 most improved player - Steve McKeown

Player of the Season Men's 2s
Player of the season this year was another tightly contested affair, but the award goes to a man whose whole approach embodies a selfless willingness to put the team first. It was the attitude and approach of the winner that was commented on as often as their consistent contribution to the team, playing in any number of positions not only week to week, but at times half to half of a match. They are in all likelihood one of few to boast that they have played in midfield, defence and attack this season, and I believe one of fewer still to lay claim to have scored from all three. M2 player of the season - Peter Bashford.

Top scorer Men's 1s
An incredible 70 goals between them from only 11,469 shots on goal. Have been the bane of defenders, umpires and the fencing behind goals all year. One lethal from short corners, sometimes.... while the other renowned for his persistence and short distance finishes both on and off the pitch. M1 joint top goal scorers - Dominic Coe-O'Brien & Callum Kumar Shaw

Most improved Men's 1s
Given most improved because of his now greater knowledge of the rules. He now knows three. A Rolls-Royce of an athlete with a frat boy for a driver, but vital to the cause. An honourable mention to Ivan and his scythe. But this years M1 most improved - Olli Dicko Dickerson

Player of Season Men's 1s
The shelf-stacking scourge of protein suppliers scored goals at important times, turned games on his own and knocked over more players than Ewan (no mean feat). Special mention to his dad for being an absolute legend and for letting him out to play after he's been naughty. M1 Player of the Season - Dominic Coe-O'Brien

Umpires awards
Volunteering to umpire is such an important part of the club, it's an excellent way you can support the other teams and therefore we decided this year to create two new awards. The first of which is...

Most games umpired
The individual who racked up the most number of games umpired, and honourable mentions go to Adam DP (11), Jack Murphy and Nicky Wilson (13) and AJ (15) ........ but with a total of 18 games umpired, this year's most prolific umpire, who's probably owed quite a substantial amount of beer - Martin Burke

Most Improved/best newcomer Umpire
We also wanted to acknowledge those individuals who may, without any official training, be brave enough to step up and start umpiring and therefore asked around the captains who they thought the most improved umpire was...... and the winner is a guy who plays Men's 4s, a shrinking violet, one you'd not necessarily expect to enjoy the authority, he's shown willingness to umpire almost anyone anywhere, this year's most improved umpire - Mike Ford

Most POMS
This award goes to the person who wins the most Player of the Match awards across the whole club, all teams, according to our teamsheet. It's someone who has clearly had a season of consistently high performances, this year's winner is the heartbeat of the ladies 1s, their captain - Nicky Wilson

Young Player of the Year
Hotly debated by the committee, honourable mentions have to go to Ben Burke and Amelia Hennessey, whilst Adam Cady who played up front for the Men's 3s scoring 7 goals came very close to pipping the eventual winner of this award. But the winner only took up hockey this year, he had a stellar season for the Men's 4th XI, scoring 11 goals, also got involved in mixed hockey, our young player of the year, just scraping in under the age bracket - Joe Hyatt

Most Sociable Club Person
Another new award this year, as such a sociable bunch, we really thought it was about time that our social side get recognised by an award. This award goes to the person who made the most effort to mingle with other members, was always in the bar, always out on the town, always friendly. It was a 5 horse race... Vicky FB and our friendly South African, Mr Yellow Shirt Ross came in 5th and 4th. Lydia, in third, ran our second placed Nicky Wilson very close but in first place is one of our very sociable social secretaries, truly living the role, it's - Davin Mahi

Team of the Year
To be honest this shouldn't really be awarded this year, how do you pick between 3 teams, two of which have won back to back league championships and another that has earned a historical promotion as champions from a league they've been stuck in for over a decade. Unfortunately we can't split the award in 3 and therefore it comes down to win percentage..... the winners were 3rd in the entire Surrey open league for points per game, 3rd for most goals scored, 3rd for least goals conceded, champions of their league with 16 wins out of 20, a win percentage of 81.67 % .... the Men’s 3rd XI

Club Person of the Year
Our final and most prestigious award was hotly contested. The award goes to the person who goes above and beyond on behalf of the club. Honourable mentions to some who didn't even make the shortlist, Rob F-B for leading the Men's 1s to a second league championship as captain, Jon Foley who won last year only to better his performance this year as men's coach, Scotty Netherway who helped sort the new membership system and fundraising, and of course Mikey Bowling for his embelished teamsheets.

Congratulations to Nicky, Keith, Martin and Hoops for making the shortlist but you didn't win.

Congratulations to Adam.... and Adam. Two excellent performances this year leading your teams to league titles.

The runner up in this award is very much an unsung hero, they spend a lot of time stopping Hoops from spending all our rainy day fund, he's the keeper of the purse string and prolific umpire, it's AJ.

So the winner of the main award is a young lady who has just completed her 11th season as captain of the Ladies 2s, she captains the mixed team and organises a tour to Milton Keynes, not to mention keeping the ladies in with a good supply of cheese, winner of club person of the year - Nicky Robinson

So there you have it, our award winners for 2016/17.
