Here's the end of season round up for the 2016/17 season

Last year we won two league titles and got a further promotion, this year we bettered it by winning three league titles, two of those teams winning back to back titles. It's an understatement to say we've had a successful couple of years and long may it continue.

We work hard for our success and pride ourselves on being an open, fun and friendly club, welcoming of all new comers no matter whether you're a senior pro or a beginner, so if you're interested in joining email us on join@cowhc.co.uk.

Next year we are starting a men's 5th team and looking to start a ladies 3rd team, we'll be fundraising to improve facilities, and looking at all further options for improvement.

But for time being here's a brief summary of how each of the teams did this year...

Ladies 1s - A challenging season where results didn't represent how well the team played or how good the morale in the team was. Big thanks to Roachie for the progress this year. The team finished up avoiding relegation on the last game of the season with a win over Surrey Spartans to finish 8th out of 10, with 5 wins, 4 draws and 9 losses, scoring 19 and conceding 40

Ladies 2s - A really solid season, one which just after Christmas there were hopes of promotion before a real slump in form from mid February brought the team back to an unfortunate reality but an excellent mid table finish after relegation last year. They finished 6th out of 10, won 7 drew 5 lost 6, scored 28, conceded 37

Men's 1s - Back to back Championships... but boy did they keep it interesting til the last. At one point they looked like they were cruising the league only to lose a couple of vital games to give other teams around them a sniff. But like the true performers finished off in style with that final day of the season win over Surbiton to seal the title. They won 16 of their 22 games, drawing 1 and losing 5, they scored an incredible 111 goals and conceded 59 for a goal difference of 52.

Men's 2s - In any other year a push for promotion and very respectable mid table finish after promotion last year would be celebrated. The 2s had an excellent season where promotion was on the cards for a real long time, with just a few of the draws turned into wins the story could've been so different. Ultimately they finished 4th out of 10, winning 7, drawing 6 and losing 5, they scored 40 and conceded 42.

Men's 3s - Like the 1s they were back to back champions but unlike the 1s not leaving it to the last minute! An utterly dominant season from the 3s where promotion looked on the cards from the very first game. They spent just 4 weeks not in 1st place in the league, they went unbeaten from late November to the very last game of the season, 11 games, including a 7 game winning streak. They won 16, drew 1 lost 3, scored 78 and conceded just 20 (a goal a game) for a goal difference of 58

Men's 4s - History makers, the Men's 4s don't have records that go back far enough to see when they were last out of the bottom league of Surrey Open. After a shaky start they never looked back. One better than the 3s they went on a 12 game unbeaten run, 13 if you include a friendly in which they beat a team from the league above just for laughs. They had winning streaks of 5 and 6 games and from Mid January onwards didn't relinquish top spot! They won 13, drew 1 and lost 4, scored 60 and conceded just 22 goals for a goal difference of 38.
