Croydon & Old Whitgiftians 4s 1 – 10 Aldershot & Farnham 4s
The 4s were taught a lesson in hard aggressive and good passing hockey by this top of the table team. They were a class higher than teams we had met in other games and they should get promotion this year. This is not surprising as last year this team held their own in division 3 but a younger team took their place in div. 3 and they came into div. 5.
They were sharper into the tackle than us and we were regularly caught in possession thus they were able to dominate the midfield putting a lot of pressure on the back 4. The highlights of the first half were some superb saves by Maatin in goal and Karl’s first goal for the club(possibly). The low lights were their 4 goals and Duncan hurting his back.
Although they scored more goals in the second half as we tired we did look better at times going forward when we passed the ball around accurately. As long as we can learn something from this game we can forget it.
